We Don’t Want A Casino In Fairfax County

Big corporate developers are planning to build a massive 24/7 casino in Tysons. We can’t let this happen.

A casino in Tysons would drive even more traffic congestion to our area – bringing thousands more vehicles to our roadways and cut-through traffic through local neighborhoods – while also exacerbating our growing affordable housing crisis.

We need to stop lawmakers and big corporate developers from passing legislation during Virginia’s General Assembly session that would enable construction of a casino in Fairfax County.

How Will This Impact Me?

Traffic Congestion
  • A Northern Virginia Casino would be a traffic nightmare for Fairfax County residents
  • Would add thousands more cars daily to key travel routes, leading to a traffic gridlock and increased cut-through traffic in our neighborhoods
  • Fairfax County already experiences some of the worst traffic in the region and the U.S.
Hurting Local Small Businesses
  • A casino would make it harder for small business to attract and retain employees in an already tight labor market
  • Divert consumer spending away from existing business

As well as:

  • Put additional stress on affordable housing in our areas
  • The disruption of local communities and stress on community services and resources
  • Exacerbate the existing workforce shortage
